Family bathroom in large historic farmhouse.
Dog friendly holiday home

Tynewydd Farmhouse Extra Information

This is a VERY old house which has been lovingly restored. We do however have wonky and uneven floors in places and some of the doorways are low.

Guests must be able to climb stairs.

The house recently featured on 'Celebrity Help my House is Haunted' on the Discovery channel. The film team commented that they had "rarely encountered such warm and friendly atmosphere", and all those who visit notice a peace and warmth that is hard to explain. We leave it to those who visit to make their own judgment, but can neither guarantee a meeting with our long standing houseguests, nor be responsible in any way if you do. All we ask is that you are respectful of the house and those from down the centuries to whom some believe it is still home.

There is a Hot Tub located in the grounds of the property which is available to guests during their stay. We ask that all guests comply with the health and safety recommendations surrounding this which are send over once a booking is confirmed and shown below.

There is a charge of £100 to cover the servicing and water treatment of the Hot Tub prior to each stay. Should guests not require use of the tub, it will be powered down (and no extra charge is payable).

A maximum of 3 dogs are permitted. All dogs must be kept downstairs at all times away from the carpeted areas of the house and under no circumstances should they be allowed onto any furniture. Muddy paws should be washed outside.

The plumbing is what you might expect from an ancient house and the ensuite bathrooms have macerator toilets. For this reason ONLY human waste should be flushed to avoid the risk of blockage. All other waste must be put in the rubbish bins provided.

Outdoor Hot Tub guest relaxation Large farmhouse for group stays in Wales

The property has a Hot Tub in the garden for guests to use. Any guest wishing to make use of the Hot Tub must fully read and comply with the usage Instructions. There is an additional fee of £100 for use of the hot tub during a stay to cover for servicing and treatment prior to the stay as well as the additional energy costs to keep it running. Should a guest require the Hot Tub, they should specify at the time of booking and the additional fee will be charged.

If guests would like the Hot Tub to be fully emptied, cleaned and refilled prior to their arrival, this can be arranged only when the booking is made at least 7 days in advance and will be subject to a one off fee of £95. This is because it takes 5 hours to fully empty and refill.

We hope that guests appreciate that whilst this is a lovely added bonus of the property, it does come with its own unique health & safety risks. Guests must understand that the use of the Hot Tub is entirely at their own risk and the owners will not be held liable in any way for any injury, illness or death caused by use of the Hot Tub.

Hot Tub Safety Information

BEFORE
• Please note, chlorine is present in the water
• We strongly advise that pregnant women DO NOT USE the hot tub
• People with skin, ear, genital or other bodily infections, open sores, or wound should NOT use the hot tub because of the possibility of spreading infection or irritating your condition
• Never use the hot tub while using or after using narcotics or other drugs that may cause sleepiness, drowsiness or raise / lower blood pressure
• Use the toilet and shower with soap and water BEFORE and AFTER using the hot tub. Showering before use washes away many of the common skin bacteria and removes lotions, deodorants, creams etc. which reduce the effectiveness of the spa sanitizer which disinfects the water
• Ensure swimwear has been thoroughly rinsed before entering the hot tub (new swimwear can cause discolouration to the water of the hot tub)
• Please wear appropriate footwear to and from the hot tub to avoid transferring dust / grass/ debris into the hot tub
• Beware of slippery surfaces in and around the hot tub
• Persons with heart disease, diabetes, low or high blood pressure, or any serious illness should not enter the hot tub without prior consultation with their doctor• Avoid using the hot tub immediately after a heavy meal
• Avoid entering the hot tub water immediately after exercising as the water temperature can affect heart rate
• Strictly no walking or sitting on the hot tub lid

DURING
• Limit your time in the hot tub to a maximum of 20 minutes, with a 20 minute cooling off period before getting back in to lower body temperature. Long exposures at warm temperatures can cause high body temperature. Symptoms may include dizziness, nausea, fainting, drowsiness, and reduced awareness, resulting in possible drowning. Prolonged immersion in a spa may be hazardous to your health
• The heat of the hot tub water speeds up the effects of alcohol and can cause sleepiness, dizziness and unconsciousness
• Never use the hot tub alone. Do not exceed 6 people in the hot tub at the same time.
• Take care when entering and leaving the hot tub/ When leaving the hot tub leg muscles may be relaxed enough to make you unsteady
• Do not use electrical appliances in or near the hot tub. Do not take glass or cans of drink to the hot tub area.
• Do not immerse your head in the hot tub water. This increases the risk of infection and can heighten the dangers of drowning due to suction below the waterline
• All children MUST be supervised AT ALL TIMES
• Parents are advised to warn children not to let water into their mouths as this can cause infection or illness
• Never use glass in/near the hot tub as broken glass can cause a risk to people with bare feet and is very difficult to see within the hot tub water
• If the water becomes dirty which in turn clogs up the heater pump then the hot tub may cut and not working correctly. If this happens, you must notify us immediately and stop using the hot tub.
• Take care on the decking as water from the hot tub can cause it to be slippery
• No food or drink to be consumed whilst in the hot tub

AFTER
• When not in use make sure the hot tub cover is down, secured and locked. Take care when closing the lid to avoid injury
• If any fault or damage occurs with the hot tub, please contact us at the earliest convenient moment• If an allergic reaction occurs leave the hot tub and rinse off in the shower. If the reaction persists, contact us or go to a local doctor or A&E
• Do not turn the hot tub isolation switch off as the hot tub’s power needs to be on to carry out the cleaning cycles
• Shower and dry off properly• Please take care when returning to the cottage from the hot tub, wear appropriate footwear to avoid slipping.
