Little ones will love crabbing off the pontoon whilst the older guests can enjoy a refreshing beverage, courtesy of the Ferry Boat Inn located right on the quay.


Boats and life on the water here is immensely popular here, so if you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy kayaking or stand up paddleboarding, it’s great place to stay.

From the pontoon you can catch the ferry across to Greenway, situated on the other side of the Dart. Greenway Estate is famously known as being the holiday home of the much-loved crime novelist, Agatha Christie, who even named a character after this gorgeous village, Lady Dittisham, in her book, Five Little Pigs. 

Walking around Dittisham will afford you some pretty spectacular views too. You could walk to Dartmouth, and catch the ferry back up river or vice versa.

As the seasons change so do the FBI menus. Due to very high demand from Easter onwards the menu is streamlined to a great selection of home cooked pizzas along with tasty side dishes.

The stone ground pizza bases are imported from Italy and topped with their own tomato and oregano sauce. 

They have gluten free bases, vegan cheese and vegetarian options.

The Anchorstone Café is one of the South Hams’ few true river-side cafés, 

From the 1950s to 2001, The Anchorstone Café was a small tea room but over the years it has evolved into a fine eatery. The Anchorstone Café remains a South Hams treasure.

The Anchorstone Café offers a fantastic local menu, including seafood and great wines.


Boasting an amazing panoramic view across the River Dart, it is open throughout the summer season and specialise in delicious seafood lunches – crab, lobster, mussels.
